Rose Syrup Recipe
Here’s a simple recipe for making rose syrup that you can use to add a delightful floral touch to your coffee lattes!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup dried edible rose petals (or 1/4 cup rose water)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
Instructions:
- Combine Water and Sugar: In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Add Rose Petals: If using dried rose petals, add them to the saucepan. If using rose water, add it after the syrup has cooled slightly.
- Simmer: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes. If using rose petals, the syrup will take on a lovely pink hue.
- Strain: Remove from heat and let it steep for an additional 10-15 minutes. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve to remove the rose petals.
- Add Lemon Juice: Stir in the lemon juice if using. This helps to preserve the color and adds a slight tang.
- Cool and Store: Allow the syrup to cool completely before transferring it to a clean, airtight bottle or jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to a month
