Homemade Lavender Syrup
Here’s a simple recipe for homemade lavender syrup that you can use to make a delicious lavender latte!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender buds
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
- Combine Water and Sugar: In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Add Lavender: Once the sugar is dissolved, add the dried lavender buds to the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Simmer: Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, allowing the lavender to infuse the syrup.
- Strain: Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the syrup cool slightly. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove the lavender buds.
- Add Vanilla (Optional): If using, stir in the vanilla extract.
- Store: Pour the syrup into a clean, airtight container and store it in the refrigerator. It should keep for about 2 weeks.
